"This year has been filled with unforgettable moments that I will cherish forever. Winning the CISSA football championship, attending Camp Olympia with my friends, playing a football game on A-Day in front of my family, and participating in various school and boarding activities have all contributed to an amazing experience. I even had the privilege of speaking at assembly about my time in boarding, a moment that deepened my connection to this incredible community."A student in Year 9
"From my point of view, what makes Upper Canada College so special is the challenging academics and athletics along with the people and the opportunities that can be found within this place. I have met people from all over the world, with cultures, interests and skills that cover every aspect of life and that have connections with people spread across every continent."A student in Year 12
"It took a while for me to start warming up to the massive community. Coming from a small public school, I struggled to find my place in the classes and halls. With the transition from pandemic programming to the nine day cycle, I eventually found a diverse group of new quirky Year 9s to connect with. I suppose that's the UCC experience—being able to interact with bright personalities irrespective of your cultural or financial background. It's a level of inclusivity I've never experienced anywhere else. It's hard to imagine that I've already reached the last year at the College. It will be four long years since I timidly walked in through the front door (and almost stepped on the crest!), but with your support, I've been able to experience it all. I hope in the future I can change the lives of others — to open worlds they never could have fathomed. Just like you have done for me."A student in Year 12
"The camaraderie and support I've found here have made UCC feel like a home away from home. Everyone has their own vision and drive to be the best or to achieve success. With the support of the coaches and teachers here, I've received the tools needed to succeed. As a student-athlete, I have had the privilege of playing on the varsity hockey team and am looking forward to the start of the varsity lacrosse season. Competing with teammates who share my passion for sports and academics has been inspiring. Beyond athletics, I enjoy studying mathematics and physical education. These subjects allow me to grow not only academically but also physically and mentally, which I deeply value as I strive to balance my studies and athletic pursuits."A student in Year 10
"My favourite subjects are arts and digital media because I usually actively participate in both outside of school, as many of my hobbies like digital arts and graphic design are closely intertwined with these subjects. I am a member of both the jazz and concert band where I play the clarinet. I also volunteer under a UCC's Horizons program where I've taught kids music theory and how to play the clarinet. Furthermore, I am a member of the College Times, UCC's annual yearbook and a varsity swimmer for the school's team. What I enjoy most about being a student is the community we have fostered. The College's motto that reverberates throughout the community is "never walk alone". It is more than just our school song, it's a truth of our school and I have felt its impact with the friends I have made throughout my UCC journey."A student in Year 10
"This year at UCC, I made many new friends and found common interests such as a love for math, solving the Rubik's cube and origami. I also learned from my peers how to handle and play with a yo-yo, which is a very cool trick to explore. I led one of the speed-cubers clubs, which had four of my friends. I had so much fun going away for two nights at Norval, which was my first trip away from my family. I can't wait to see what Year 6 has in store for me, as I'm excited to have a chance to make more connections and meet new friends."A student in Year 5
